  • CloudVu is a SaaS-Based Employee Productivity Analysis & Reporting System. The scope of this project was to design a series of dashboards to surface data which shows the performance of differing roles and departments within a company.

  • To design a series of dashboards which visualises the following data points:

    Filters
User will be able to see the data based on Office, Department, User permissions.

    Emails
The emails will be captured for each user/employee, the data points captured in the emails will include inbound and outbound, and unknown emails.

    Calls
The calls data will be collected and periodically. The content or audio recording of the call data will not be stored or synced. The broad data points captured will include inbound, outbound calls and duration.

    Applications
The system will also keep track of the duration for which each application is used. The application will also keep track of AFK (Away From Keyboard) time of the user by monitoring the mouse cursor movement and keystrokes. In essence, the dashboard will be able to capture and show following data point examples: Applications, Websites used and the duration.

    Productivity
Finally, all data points will be used to capture and represent overall productivity of the user. The data can be visualised in several ways including, top and bottom performers.

Initial Thoughts & Explorations

After some initial research and thought gathering, getting out the sketchbook is always a good place to start, having the scope of project ironed out enables the next stage of ideation, getting some idea’s down on paper.

This enables the client to designer brainstorm process to develop and throughout this process sketches and idea’s development continued to get a bigger picture on how the product is going to look and feel.

Final Individual Profile Dashboard

Global Filters

The data views are controlled by a group of global filters which change the view based on the selection made.

The filters control the level of focus from Individual through to County giving a focussed or global overview. The data can also be controlled from a date overview, including weeks, months and annual.

The search function shows results from all the different views mentioned previously.

Permissions

Company Manager will be able to manage their locations, Departments and its users. They can view the productivity reports of each location, department or user.

Each Location will have their respective Admins who will be responsible for managing the data of their employees in the location. They will also be able to view the reports of their respective location. Since each admin/manager will also be a user, they will be able to view their personal productivity also.

Each user will be mapped to a reporting manager who can view the productivity reports of their subordinates. These users will be clubbed together in department/designation.

The employees will be able to login and view their own productivity reports.

Focus on the Widgets and modals

The widgets and modals make up the core part of the product and surface the major data points like Calls, Messages, Emails and Applications. They also show individual data analysis and comparative cross-department and company comparisons.

Calls, Messages and Emails

The Calls data covers calls from Landline, Mobile, WhatsApp and Teams with Emails showing Inbound, Outbound, Internal, External and Unknown sources. The challenge was to create a model which surfaced similar data in each model. Messages covered similar data sources in WhatsApp, Teams and Text. The data was interpreted visually using various graph types suited to the data shown.

Applications

The system will also keep track of the duration for which each application is used. The application will also keep track of “away from keyboard” time of the user by monitoring the mouse cursor movement and keystrokes. However, the application will not keep track of which keystrokes were pressed in any way. Similar data will be captured for the websites visited by the user. In essence, the dashboard will be able to capture and show applications used, and websites visited.

Productivity

All of the previously mentioned data points will be used to capture and represent overall productivity of the user. The data can be visualised on several ways including the list opposite.
